The Bible Predicts...

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

I Thessalonians 4:17

The Tribulation Temple

The Bible predicts that during the Tribulation period, there will be a Jewish temple. It will undoubtedly be in Jerusalem, and undoubtedly on the Temple Mount, as that is the only place that would be acceptable to Jews. That is hard to imagine at the present time, as there are two Muslim mosques currently on the Temple Mount, and as far as we know, Jewish people are really not even allowed up there.

Again, this is where the incredible powers of the Antichrist will probably come in. A good guess would be that the Antichrist, through his incredible persausive techniques and diplomatic skills, will help the Jews get a temple built on the Mount. Anybody that could do that would have to be seen as a great world leader. Leaders have been trying to broker peace in the Middle East for years. Putting two and two together, it would appear that this guy is going to make some strides that all other leaders only dream about.

This temple that is predicted in the Bible is one of the indicators that it is possible that we may not be very far from the Tribulation period. Plans are being made as we speak in Jerusalem for this "third temple," including gathering of rocks for the cornerstone and the artifacts that the priests would need. A google of "third temple in Jerusalem" will give you more sites than you'll ever have time to look at. Its time, quite possibly, could be close at hand.

It would appear that in the first half of the Tribulation, that is, the first three and a half years, freedom of religion will dominate. It would seem that people will be able to practice their own religion, and the idea that all religions are the same, that all roads lead to God and to heaven will be prevalent.

However, the Bible predicts that there are going to be two men that are going to go against the grain, and are going to do it very publicly. It also says that there are going to be 144,000 men who will go against the grain, although their ministry may be less overt. In any event, they all will be an irritant for a large part of society, including the Antichrist.
