The Bible Predicts...

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

I Thessalonians 4:17

Attack on Israel

The Bible predicts that in the end times, there will be a military attack on the nation of Israel, involving several countries from the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The countries appear as though they will be: Iran (not hard to imagine), Libya, the Sudan, Turkey (which is growing ever increasingly hostile to Israel), and some of the countries that broke off from Russia in the early 1990's. Russia will also be involved in this attack.

At the time of this writing, Russia and Iran are combining forces more and more over Iran's developing nuclear program. Russia has helped Iran to get to the point where they can now easily develop nuclear weapons, but has promised to "watch" Iran so that they behave themselves. Talk about the fox watching the hen house! And the leadership in Turkey, after having some of its citizens killed in the Flotilla episode, have said that they "would never forgive Israel." All that to say, it is not surprising that the Bible predicts that these countries will one day attack Israel.

What's amazing about the prediction is that it was made over 2500 years ago, by the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel. This prediction is as relevant as the headlines in today's newspapers.

Ezekiel is clear about how this invasion goes. God will supernaturally intervene and destroy the invading armies, sending their planes crashing to the ground and killing the troops. The Bible goes into detail about how Israel will go about cleaning up the land, and how it appears they handle the resulting atomic energy and radioactivity. This can be read in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 in the Old Testament of the Bible.

No one knows for sure the timing of this attack. Some people feel it happens before the rapture, some people feel it could happen simultaneously with the rapture, and others feel it happens sometime after the rapture.

It's impossible to know, but since we always want to look at the rapture as the next event on the prophetic timetable, we have placed it here.

We do know that before the seven year tribulation period begins, there will be a time of great apostasy, as well as a time of "peace and safety" in the world. The world will be divided into ten regions, and out of one of these regions a world leader will arise. Keep reading to find out more about him.
